International Quality of Life Awards Study Tour

The International Quality of Life Study Tour is an educational enrichment opportunity for students in the College of Human Sciences to experience New York City — the economic, cultural, and financial capital of the world — like no tourist can. Whether students are studying Nutritional Sciences, Hospitality Management, Apparel Design, Merchandising, and Production Management, Interior Design, Human Development and Family Science, or Global Studies, a tour of a city with such rich history will leave them with experiences that are invaluable for their professional development and in their future careers.

Preparation for the study tour will occur throughout Fall semester in special lectures, workshops and assignments on the AU campus designed to enhance the culminating experience in New York City. From December 4 - 8, 2026, students will have the opportunity to visit exciting venues in New York City related to economics, art, and culture, as well as to serve as student ambassadors at the International Quality of Life Awards on Monday, December 7, 2026.

To be eligible to enroll in this course, a student must:

• be a senior or junior in the College of Human Sciences
• have an overall 3.0 ungapped GPA
• complete and submit the application no later than 4:45 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2026
• participate in a competitive interview selection process
• understand that the tour is scheduled during last day of classes/final exam week; therefore, students must be willing to work with their instructors to reschedule some or all of their final exams
